• Location Based Experience, 2020

    In 2020 we partnered with Universal Pictures to create ‘The Invisible’ - a bespoke experience in a container created to partner the  launch of Universal’s  ‘The Invisible Man’. The work featured Darkfield’s signature use of binaural sound and darkness, along with other special effects.

    The experience was sited at Universal Citywalk, Los Angeles, and gave audience members a unique experience inspired by the film.

  • Digital Experience, 2020

    In 2020, the Bram Stoker Festival commissioned DARKFIELD to create an experience inspired by Dracula, to premiere at the festival. ETERNAL is a 20 minute immersive audio experience for one person, alone in their bed. It explores the quandary of eternal life and wonders what price you would settle for to achieve it.

    The work was transmitted via DARKFIELD Radio and is still available to experience.

  • Digital experience, 2021

    In 2021 DARKFIELD were commissioned by the BBC to create DEADHOUSE, a trilogy of immersive audio horror shorts, all for a single listener, lying down, with their eyes closed. The listener becomes the subject while the binaural sound surrounds and creeps towards them. Each episode is for the cold and the callous amongst us, and takes a look at the separation of mind and body.

  • Digital experience premiered at SXSW Festival, 2022

    PARADISE is a 30 minute two person immersive audio experience for intimate partners in their own home. Part interactive game, part theatrical experience using speech recognition technology, audience members progress through a world of simulated scenarios that explore why we stay together or fall apart.

    PARADISE is a collaboration between DARKFIELD and LIGHTSHED.IO and has been created with support and research from John Hopkins University, using the best evidence and innovative technology to create a shared exploration of intimate relationships to raise awareness, build empathy and inspire action to end intimate partner violence.

    INTRAVENE is an immersive audio experience using binaural 360 degree sound to plunge listeners into the heart of the overdose crisis in Vancouver. It is a groundbreaking partnership of immersive and documentary experts and drug user activists: DARKFIELD, Crackdown and Brenda Longfellow.
